CHELSEA HOTEL NYC - OCTOBER 1978
SiD & NAnCY checked into Room 100 of New York City's Chelsea Hotel in the Fall of 1978. On October 12th, Nancy's body was discovered, propped against blue bathroom tiles; the cause, a wound from Sid's knife.
In the '80s, Room 100 was combined into a suite, but remained unchanged despite hotel policy to deny it existed. While that suite was gutted in 2012, blue tile remnants -- witnesses to a Punk melodrama -- were found amid the rubble. As 'Punk Rocks', they're available to fans & admirers.
Murder? Or Punk Pact?
Sid's farewell note said the pair chose suicide, and he was making good on their pact. Police said murder, but questioned no other suspects.
